How to price construction leads before you buy any

1. Name the job, not the trade. A repair enquiry and a full replacement are priced differently by the one source that separates them: HVAC repairs at $100 against full replacement at $150. Decide which you want before anybody quotes you.
2. Decide exclusive or shared. The same homeowner sold to one contractor rather than two or three roughly doubles the price on every published tier. That is the single biggest lever on what you pay and it is often left unstated in a quote.
3. Work out your close rate first. Cost per lead is meaningless without it. At a five per cent close rate a $100 lead costs $2,000 a job; at fifteen per cent the same lead costs $667. Your own last hundred leads answer this better than any seller can.
4. Ask for the price in writing before the demo. Twelve of the seventeen sources in this record publish nothing. That is not a reason to accept a sales call as the only route to a number, and it is why the form on this site exists.

The published range, trade by trade

Fixr is the only source in this record that prices construction work trade by trade, and its published figures run from $80 to $120 for a shared high-intent roofing lead up to $225 and above for an exclusive siding lead. Bathroom sits at $150 to $180 exclusive and $80 to $120 shared, kitchen starts around $150 exclusive, and windows are quoted at at least $160 exclusive.

Why aged construction records are a different purchase

Aged Lead Store publishes a ladder that starts at $2.00 for a home improvement record thirty to ninety days old and falls to $0.70 at twenty-five thousand records. Work Aged Leads reads the same market at $0.75 to $10.00 as an average across providers.

Those are not cheap construction leads. They are homeowner forms that were sold as fresh leads months ago and are being resold; a good proportion of those people have already hired somebody. They are worth buying only with a system for working a list at volume, and they should never be lined up in the same column as a lead generated this morning.

What nobody publishes

Angi, HomeAdvisor, Modernize, Service Direct, 33 Mile Radius, Porch, eLocal, BuildZoom, Networx, Bark, Contractor Appointments and LeadPoint were all checked for this record and none of them yielded a price we could read. Five of those publish pages with no price on them; seven refused the read or returned nothing at all.

That distinction is kept throughout this site. A page that reads and carries no price is evidence about the company's pricing practice. A page that returns a 403 is evidence about our fetch and nothing else, and treating the second as the first would be inventing a finding.

Common questions

What is a fair price for a construction lead?

There is no single fair price, but there is a published range: $80 to $225 for a fresh exclusive lead depending on trade, roughly half that for the same lead shared with two or three contractors. Anything far below that band is usually aged data, which is a different product.

Are exclusive construction leads worth double?

They are worth double if your close rate on them is more than double, which depends on how fast you call and how many competitors the shared version reaches. The published tiers make the trade explicit; only your own numbers can settle it.

Why do so few sources publish a price?

Because the price genuinely moves with trade, ZIP code, volume and exclusivity, and because a quote-first model gives a salesperson the chance to sell. Both are true at once, and the second is why a published range is worth having before you take the call.

Can I buy construction leads without a contract?

Several sources in this record sell by the lead or by the list rather than on a term. What none of them publishes is a minimum spend, so ask about that in the same breath as the unit price.
