99 Calls lead pricing, quoted from its own cost guide

99 Calls is an exclusive-lead service, and the figures it publishes are mostly about other companies. Its roofing cost guide bands the shared and exclusive halves of that market and names which platforms sit in each, which no marketplace in this record does about itself. Those figures are recorded here as 99 Calls' published observations, with 99 Calls named as the one making them.

99 Calls coverage, evidenced

99 Calls runs its own live page for 1 of the trades this record tracks. Each link below is that page, which is the evidence this site counts as coverage. A claim to cover every trade is not evidence and is not counted here.

What it says the roofing market costs

Its guide puts shared leads from Angi, HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack at roughly $25 to $200 per lead, and exclusive leads from Service Direct, 99 Calls and 33 Mile Radius at roughly $40 to $550. The exclusive band is wider at both ends, which is what you would expect when one buyer carries the whole cost of acquiring a homeowner.

It then works an example at $190 a lead against a $12,000 average roofing job with about $4,000 of gross profit, and argues the question is not whether $190 is expensive but how many leads it takes to close one job. That arithmetic is the right frame and it is also the frame a seller of $190 leads would choose.

Reading a competitor's price map

This is the only place in this record where the marketplaces are priced at all, because none of them will price itself where we could read it. That makes 99 Calls' bands genuinely useful and genuinely interested at the same time.

So they are printed here with the publisher named on every use, never attributed to Angi or HomeAdvisor as their own figure, and never used to compute anything on this site. A number a competitor publishes about you is evidence about the competitor as much as about you.

Common questions

Are these Angi's and HomeAdvisor's actual prices?
No. They are 99 Calls' published estimate of what those platforms charge, quoted from 99 Calls' own page. Neither Angi nor HomeAdvisor publishes a price we could read, which is recorded separately in this catalogue.
Why is the exclusive range so wide?
$40 to $550 covers everything from a low-value repair enquiry to a full replacement in a competitive metro. An exclusive lead is bought by one contractor, so its price tracks the job value behind it much more closely than a shared lead's does.
Should I trust a lead seller's figures about its competitors?
Treat them as a starting point and check them. That is why every figure on this site carries the page it came from and the date it was read, and why the publisher is named next to any figure about a third party.
