Home services lead generation: every source, priced or not

Home services lead generation covers every trade that visits a house, and the price of a lead in it varies by a factor of a thousand depending on which of four products you are buying. This page is the market map: the four models, the five sources that publish a figure, and the twelve that do not, with the two kinds of silence kept apart.

Buying home services leads

  1. Work out which trade you are actually in. The published prices differ by half between trades: $80 to $120 for a shared roofing lead against $225 and above for an exclusive siding one. A source quoting you a home services rate is averaging across a spread that wide.
  2. Pick the model before the vendor. Rate card, bid marketplace, pay per call and aged list are four different purchases. Choosing the model narrows seventeen sources to a handful and makes the remaining quotes comparable.
  3. Test at minimum volume in two places. Every published price ladder in this record falls with order size, which is exactly why a first order should not chase the discount. Two small orders in parallel is the cheapest way to learn what your close rate likes.
  4. Track cost per job from week one. Cost per lead is the seller's metric. Cost per job is yours, and it is the only number that survives a comparison between a $2 aged record and a $190 exclusive lead.

The published spread across home services

Across the trades that carry a published figure in this record, a fresh exclusive lead runs from $100 for an HVAC repair enquiry to $225 and above for siding, with roofing, bathroom and kitchen clustered at $150 to $180. Shared versions of the same leads run at roughly half.

Aged records for the same homeowners sit between $0.10 and $10 depending on age, trade and order size. Those are the two ends of home services lead generation and they are not points on one scale; they are two different things sold to the same buyer.

The trades nobody prices

Plumbing, electrical, landscaping, cleaning, pest control, moving and restoration have no published lead price anywhere in this record. Every rate card found covers remodelling and exterior work instead.

That is not a coincidence about those trades so much as a fact about who publishes: the sources willing to print a rate card sell higher-ticket remodelling leads, while the marketplaces that dominate the service trades publish nothing about anything.

Two kinds of silence

Five sources in this record serve pages that read perfectly well and carry no price: a calculator instead of a rate card, a pro page with no figure on it, a holding page. That is a deliberate choice and it tells you the price is a conversation.

Seven more returned a 403, an empty body, a bot challenge or a 404 at the address their own site points to. That tells you nothing at all about their prices, and this site refuses to present it as though it did.

Common questions

What does a home services lead cost?
Between $0.10 and $550 depending on what you are buying. Fresh exclusive leads are published at $100 to $225 by trade; aged records at $0.15 to $10; and one competitor bands the whole exclusive market at $40 to $550.
Which home services lead companies publish prices?
Five of seventeen checked: two for fresh leads by trade, two for aged records, and one that publishes its charging model rather than a price.
Why do the service trades have no published prices?
The sources that publish rate cards sell higher-ticket remodelling leads. The marketplaces that dominate plumbing, electrical and cleaning publish nothing about any trade.
Is one source enough?
Rarely. With most of the market publishing nothing, other quotes are the only benchmark you have, and two small parallel orders cost less than one bad annual contract.
