Moving leads: what a mover pays and who will say so
Moving is a high-volume, low-margin trade where lead costs decide the year, and not one of the seventeen sources checked for this record publishes a moving lead price. The trade is dominated by shared marketplaces and quote-aggregation sites, all of which treat the price as a conversation. That absence is the finding and it is worth carrying into a sales call.
- median advertised lead price among the sources that publish one
- $95

Figures on this page come from the price record on this site: 2 of the seventeen lead sources checked publish a fresh exclusive lead price, and the median of those is $95.
- Every figure quoted from the source's own pageEach price below was fetched from the lead source's own page and matched word for word before it was published, with the date it was read. Re-running the ingest re-matches every one, so a repriced page fails rather than shipping a stale figure.
- Fresh and aged are counted apartA fresh exclusive lead and an aged record re-sold months later differ by a factor of a hundred. Averaging them would produce a number describing nothing anybody can buy, so they are reported separately everywhere on this site.
- Trade coverage is evidenced, not claimedA source covers a trade here only when its own live page for that trade answered at the URL we recorded, on the date shown.

Buying moving leads
- Price against your average job, not the trade. A local two-bedroom move and a long-distance relocation differ by an order of magnitude in value. A source selling one moving lead price is averaging across a spread you should be splitting.
- Insist on knowing how many movers get the lead. Moving is the most heavily shared trade in home services and quotes rarely say how heavily. Four recipients rather than two halves what a lead is worth to you at the same price.
- Measure your quote-to-book rate first. Movers usually quote far more than they book. Without that ratio a cost per lead is meaningless, and with it the right price becomes obvious quickly.
- Get three quotes because there is no published rate. With no benchmark anywhere in this record, other quotes are the only check available. One quote in this trade is a number floating free.
Why nobody publishes a moving price
Every rate card found for this record covers remodelling and exterior trades. The marketplaces and aggregators that dominate moving publish nothing about any trade, and the aged resellers keep no moving page.
Moving also has an unusual lead economy: many enquiries are shopping several movers deliberately, so the same contact genuinely is worth less to each buyer. A published exclusive price would be hard to honour in a trade where the homeowner intends to collect four quotes.
What the published trades imply
The nearest published analogue is a shared high-intent lead in a remodelling trade, published at $80 to $120 for roofing and bathroom. Moving jobs are typically worth less than those, which argues for a lower number rather than a higher one.
This site will not put a figure on moving leads on that basis, because an inference is not a measurement. What the comparison is good for is recognising a quote that is out of proportion to the job value behind it.
Aged moving data
There is no aged moving ladder in this record. Moving is the trade where aged data ages fastest: somebody who asked about a move six weeks ago has moved.
The one exception worth asking about is enquiries with a stated future move date. A record with a date attached is a different asset from a record without one, and any seller offering aged moving data should be able to say which it is.
Common questions
- What do moving leads cost?
- No source in this record publishes a moving figure. The nearest published anchor is $80 to $120 for a shared high-intent lead in a remodelling trade, on jobs typically worth more than a move.
- Are exclusive moving leads available?
- They are sold, and nobody in this record publishes a price for them. In a trade where homeowners deliberately collect several quotes, ask carefully what exclusive is being promised.
- Why are moving leads shared so heavily?
- Because the homeowner usually intends to compare movers. That is the trade's normal buying behaviour rather than a failing of the lead sources, and it should be reflected in what you pay.
- Do aged moving leads work?
- Rarely, unless the record carries a future move date. Without one, an enquiry from six weeks ago describes a move that has already happened.
