Exclusive contractor leads and what the exclusivity costs
An exclusive lead is sold to one contractor; a shared lead is sold to two or three. Every source in this record that publishes both tiers charges roughly double for the exclusive version, which makes exclusivity the largest single lever on what you pay for work. Whether it is worth it comes down to one number that no seller can tell you.

Figures on this page come from the price record on this site: 2 of the seventeen lead sources checked publish a fresh exclusive lead price, and the median of those is $95.
- Every figure quoted from the source's own pageEach price below was fetched from the lead source's own page and matched word for word before it was published, with the date it was read. Re-running the ingest re-matches every one, so a repriced page fails rather than shipping a stale figure.
- Fresh and aged are counted apartA fresh exclusive lead and an aged record re-sold months later differ by a factor of a hundred. Averaging them would produce a number describing nothing anybody can buy, so they are reported separately everywhere on this site.
- Trade coverage is evidenced, not claimedA source covers a trade here only when its own live page for that trade answered at the URL we recorded, on the date shown.

Deciding whether exclusivity is worth double
- Find your close rate on shared leads. Take your last hundred shared leads and count the jobs. If you are closing at eight per cent because three of you are calling the same homeowner, that is the number exclusivity has to beat.
- Double it and compare. Exclusivity is worth paying for when it more than doubles your close rate, because that is roughly the price difference on every published tier. Below that it is a comfort purchase.
- Check how fast you actually respond. Contractors who answer within minutes lose less to sharing than contractors who call back tomorrow. If your response is slow, exclusivity is buying you time and may be worth more than the arithmetic suggests.
- Ask what exclusive means in the contract. Exclusive to you, or exclusive within your ZIP code, or exclusive for twenty-four hours. All three are sold as exclusive and only the first is what most contractors think they are buying.
The published price of exclusivity
Fixr prices both tiers side by side on several trades: roofing at $150 to $180 exclusive against $80 to $120 shared; bathroom at the same $150 to $180 against $80 to $120; siding at $225 and above exclusive against from $140 shared. Windows are quoted at at least $160 exclusive with shared described as significantly less.
Read across those and the pattern is consistent: exclusivity roughly doubles the price, and it does so across trades whose absolute prices differ by half. That consistency suggests it is priced off the number of buyers rather than off the job value.
The tier most people miss
Fixr's siding page adds a distinction the rest of this market rarely publishes: affiliate leads, priced at $50 to $75 exclusive and $20 to $40 shared, sitting well below the high-intent tiers on the same page. It states plainly that they behave differently.
So exclusivity is not one axis but two. A cheap exclusive lead can be exclusive affiliate traffic rather than an exclusive high-intent enquiry, and those are not the same purchase at all. Ask which tier a quote refers to before comparing it with anything on this page.
When shared is the right answer
Shared leads suit a contractor with capacity to burn and a fast phone. If you can call in under two minutes and you are comfortable losing two out of three, the shared tier buys three times the volume for the same money and often the same number of jobs.
They suit nobody who answers voicemail at the end of the day. The published price difference assumes competition; if you are structurally slower than your competitors, you are buying a lottery ticket at half price.
Common questions
- How much more do exclusive contractor leads cost?
- Roughly double, consistently across trades where both tiers are published: $150 to $180 against $80 to $120 on roofing and bathroom, $225 and above against from $140 on siding.
- Are exclusive leads really exclusive?
- It depends on the contract, and no source in this record publishes its definition. Exclusive to one contractor, exclusive within a ZIP code and exclusive for a period are all sold under the same word.
- Can I buy exclusive aged leads?
- Aged records are sold as non-exclusive by nature: they are re-sold data, and their price reflects that. A seller offering exclusive aged records is charging for a promise that is hard to verify.
- Which trades have the biggest exclusivity premium?
- On published figures the premium is proportionally similar across trades. Siding carries the highest absolute exclusive price in this record at $225 and above.
